چکیده

This paper proposes a methodology for the utilization of eye movement cues for the task of iris print-attack detection. We investigate the fundamental distortions arising in the eye movement signal during an iris print-attack, due to the structural and functional discrepancies between a paper-printed iris and a natural eye iris. The performed experiments involve the execution of practical print-attacks against an eye-tracking device, and the collection of the resulting eye movement signals. The developed methodology for the detection of print-attack signal distortions is evaluated on a large database collected from 200 subjects, which contains both the real (‘live’) eye movement signals and the print-attack (‘spoof’) eye movement signals. The suggested methodology provides a sufficiently high detection performance, with a maximum average classification rate (ACR) of 96.5% and a minimum equal error rate (EER) of 3.4%. Due to the hardware similarities between eye tracking and iris capturing systems, we hypothesize that the proposed methodology can be adopted into the existing iris recognition systems with minimal cost. To further support this hypothesis we experimentally investigate the robustness of our scheme by simulating conditions of reduced sampling resolution (temporal and spatial), and of limited duration of the eye movement signals. 2015 Elsevier Ltd. Hand Grasping Synergies As Biometrics

Recently, the need for more secure identity verification systems has driven researchers to explore other sources of biometrics. This includes iris patterns, palm print, hand geometry, facial recognition, and movement patterns (hand motion, gait, and eye movements). Identity verification systems may benefit from the complexity of human movement that integrates multiple levels of control (neural,...

Event driven Camera based Eye Tracking

This study proposes a general diagnostic approach based on a camera based eye-tracking technique and a discrete Kalman filter as an iris tracker. In an event driven scenario, the proposed iris-tracking method is used to locate and track the subject’s eye movement and gesture by comparing it to a set of classified normal and typical gestures. The database is based on available videos as well as ...

Iridodonesis as a cause of recurrent vertigo.

A 56-year-old woman complained of recurrent attacks of vertigo. Attacks lasted no longer than a second and could be easily provoked by abrupt eye movements. Vertigo disappeared when the left eye was covered. Symptoms had begun after left-sided cataract surgery resulting in subluxation of the left lens. The characteristic feature of iridodonesis is the tremulousness of the iris with eye movement...

A Survey on Newer Prospective Biometric Authentication Modalities

Biometric authentication technologies, such as fingerprint, face, iris, and vein, have been widespread in many applications from individual portable devices to national ID management systems. Furthermore, relatively newer biometric authentication modalities including eye movement, lip-motion, etc., have been also researched and developed in order to improve an authentication accuracy and an usa...

Post-saccadic oscillations in eye movement data recorded with pupil-based eye trackers reflect motion of the pupil inside the iris

Current video eye trackers use information about the pupil center to estimate orientation and movement of the eye. While dual Purkinje eye trackers suffer from lens wobble and scleral search coils may be influenced by contact lens slippage directly after saccades, it is not known whether pupil-based eye trackers produces similar artifacts in the data. We recorded eye movements from participants...
